Supply Chain Planner

  • On-site, Hybrid
    • Den Bosch, Noord-Brabant, Netherlands
  • Supply Chain

Job description

Drones that fly longer change what's possible. Faster inspections. More effective surveillance. Longer-range logistics. But most drone batteries cap out too soon.

Tulip Tech designs and manufactures high-density battery systems that push drone flight time 30 to 100% further than standard technology. Built in Den Bosch, Netherlands. Backed by the Dutch Ministry of Defence. Trusted by leading drone companies including Acecore, Percepto, and DeltaQuad. We are not a software company with a hardware attachment we are engineers who design cells, build packs, run tests, and scale production. Everything under one roof, built to last

Why this role matters

Tulip Tech is growing fast and our supply chain needs to grow with it. We are running multiple projects in parallel: production ramps, new product development, prototypes for defence and commercial customers. The engineering and manufacturing teams are strong. What we are missing is the supply chain structure to support them.

This role owns the parts. You make sure the right components are available when engineering needs them, that production is never waiting on a purchase order, and that we are not sitting on dead stock from a cancelled prototype. You connect procurement, planning, and production into a single functioning system. You work closely with the CTO, production leads, and project managers to keep material flow aligned with what we are actually building and when.

This is not a reactive role. You do not wait to be told there is a shortage. You already knew it was coming and you had a plan.

What you will achieve

  • Build the supply chain structure Tulip Tech needs to scale: clear material plans, reliable procurement cycles, and real visibility across every active project

  • Establish MRP/ERP discipline (we use Odoo) so that production always knows what stock is available and procurement always knows what is coming

  • Own BOM management across a complex and growing product range: multiple cell configurations, pack sizes, PCB variants, and custom mechanical parts

  • Drive a "plan early" mindset: surface material risks before they become production delays, not after

  • Build and maintain supplier relationships that give us reliable lead times, fair MOQs, and the flexibility to handle both volume production and small prototype batches

  • Keep inventory lean without leaving engineering or production exposed: the right stock, in the right quantity, at the right time

  • Coordinate goods receipt, warehouse accuracy, and stock control so that what the system says matches what is on the shelf

Job requirements

  • 3-5 years in supply chain planning, materials management, or procurement in a technical environment: electronics, hardware, manufacturing, or engineering-heavy industry

  • Hands-on ERP experience, ideally Odoo, and strong Excel skills

  • Working knowledge of technical components: cells, PCBs, connectors, BMS, housings. You do not need to be an engineer but you need to understand what you are buying

  • An ownership mindset: you take responsibility for stock levels and delivery risk, not just for placing orders. When something threatens production, you fix it

  • Structured but adaptable: prototype phases are ambiguous and fast-moving; production runs require discipline and precision. You can operate in both

  • Proactive communicator: procurement, production, and project leads know what is coming before it becomes a problem

  • Comfortable building processes, not just following them. This function is underdeveloped and you will shape it

Nice to have

  • Experience in a hardware scale-up or manufacturing ramp: the transition from prototype to production has its own supply chain challenges

  • Background in aerospace, defence, automotive, or battery and EV technology

  • Experience building a supply chain function from scratch in a startup or scale-up

  • Familiarity with managing both high-volume standard components and low-volume specialist or custom parts at the same time

Additional information

  • Location: Den Bosch, Netherlands (on-site / hybrid)

  • Travel: Minimal

  • Work authorization: EU right to work required. No visa sponsorship due to defense-adjacent partnerships.

Interview process:

  • Recruiter screen 20 minutes

  • Cross-functional interview panel: 60 minutes

  • Offer

Why join

  • 38 paid days off per year: 25 vacation days plus 13 ADV days via CAO Metaal & Techniek

  • 8% holiday allowance, travel reimbursement, and PMT pension

  • Daily lunch on us

  • Direct visibility into the full product development chain: from concept to battery in the air

  • Work that matters: European defense sovereignty and aviation electrification are not abstract ambitions here they are the daily engineering brief

  • Flat team, real authority: your decisions reach production, not a committee
