Job description
Drones that fly longer change what's possible. Faster inspections. More effective surveillance. Longer-range logistics. But most drone batteries cap out too soon.
Tulip Tech designs and manufactures high-density battery systems that push drone flight time 30 to 100% further than standard technology. Built in Den Bosch, Netherlands. Backed by the Dutch Ministry of Defence. Trusted by leading drone companies including Acecore, Percepto, and DeltaQuad. We are not a software company with a hardware attachment, we are engineers who design cells, build packs, run tests, and scale production. Everything under one roof, built to last.
Why this role matters
Our high-density battery systems deliver unparalleled energy density, reliability, and longevity, enabling your drones to go further, last longer, and perform better.
With innovation at the core of our mission, we engineer battery solutions that make drones fly 30% to up to 100% further, all proudly manufactured in Europe.
As our Global Commercial Controller, you are the fact base behind every commercial decision we make across the Netherlands, Ukraine, and the USA. You will own the answer to what we sell, at what price, at what cost, and at what margin. You will work alongside Sales, Supply Chain, Production, Engineering, and Finance to sharpen pricing, expose true product profitability, and turn margin opportunities into measurable results. This is not a back-office reporting role: you will sit close to the business, and when it adds value you will join Sales in customer meetings.
What you will achieve:
Build a global sales pricing toolbox together with the CCO and senior Sales management, and establish a structured, data-driven approach to pricing decisions.
Develop a detailed understanding of our full product cost structure, from battery cells, cables, PCBs, and casings through to sea freight, air freight, duties, and production cost drivers.
Own sales and margin forecasting and budgeting, and act as business owner for sales reporting in Abacum, delivering transparent profitability by project, customer, and product.
Identify and land margin improvements across sales prices, procurement, supply chain, and production, translating raw-material market developments into day-to-day pricing decisions.
Improve the quality, consistency, and automation of commercial data in Odoo (ERP) and HubSpot (CRM), building processes that scale with our growth.
What you bring
7+ years of relevant experience in commercial controlling, business controlling, pricing, product costing, or a comparable role.
HBO or WO level education in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
A genuine commercial drive: you want to win business and improve profitability, not just report on it.
Strong analytical ability and a structured way of working, with the intellectual range to quickly grasp complex commercial, operational, and financial relationships.
Hands-on mentality and cross-functional instincts: comfortable in a performance-driven, fast-moving environment, equally at ease with engineers, planners, and the board.
Fluent in English; Dutch is a strong advantage
Nice to have
Experience in a production, manufacturing, or similarly operational environment.
Exposure to international supply chains and multi-entity reporting.
Experience with Odoo, HubSpot, Abacum, or comparable ERP, CRM, and FP&A tooling.
What we offer
Competitive salary excluding 8% holiday accrual (based on experience)
38 paid days off per year (25 vacation + 13 ADV via CAO Metaal & Techniek)
8% holiday allowance, travel reimbursement, and pension via PMT
Daily lunch provided by the company
Direct line of sight from raw material to battery in the air: full visibility across the commercial and operational chain
Flat team: your analysis reaches decisions fast
